VISIT US AT OUR TWO BIG SEASON-ENDING EVENTS IN OCTOBER San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, Oct 8 & 9 Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, Oct 15 & 16 San Carlos Art & Wine Faire featured artist Birgit Kupke-Peyla joins the event displaying her elegant jewelry. “Growing up, my parents fostered my creativity. Making things, conceptualizing, designing, creating, has always been part of my life. My career in metals, melding my aptitude for small scale and my interest in design, started with a friendship to a young goldsmith. My curiosity prompted an invitation to visit his studio. He introduced me to soldering, and I fabricated my first pieces of jewelry. This euphoric experience led to an apprenticeship and my education in the metal arts field. Upon graduation from high school, I decided to go to the Staatliche classical training in the trade of gold-smithing with drafting, drawing and design. With the BA degree in hand, I found employment and had the opportunity to work side by side with a certified master jeweler in Hanau. Since 2004 it has been my full time profession to produce my designs and exhibit in Fine Craft Shows.” ~ Birgit Kupke-Peyla Visit San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, get to know the artists and learn the stories behind each piece they create.
