Cornflower. Acrylic on Canvas board; 20"x16" c2022. This is the fourth, in a series. Purple Cornflowers, the name is deceiving. They're more pink that purple, they're not a type of corn. I remember these from my aunt's farm. They were a beautiful sight filling a fallow field in the summer.

About Mary Williamson The Artist

I am principally a landscape artist. My choice of medium is acrylics. Over the years, I have mastered their versatility and expanded my scope of expertise in this medium. I work in other mediums but painting is my first love. Currently, I am exploring the Colorist style of painting and am having the time of my life! It is exciting and quite satisfying to jump out into the abyss of what-if and I myself trying new techniques and renewing ones I had forgotten about All my paintings have a story and a method. I paint every day and challenge myself to venture from my comfort zone. Artist Statement--Paintbrush in hand, I chronicle stories still untold; forever on the lookout for hidden passages in everyday life. My challenge is to illuminate the deeper story in a quiet landscape. I stray from well-worn pathways to find myself in the dark undergrowth of forgotten roads. Here, I seek to revive that which has been left to decay. An old building, rusting machinery, or an ancient tree bursting with new life. - Mary Williamson
