Shop the newest collection of original handcrafted art! See Julie Anna Smith with Creative Endeavors at the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival, July 9 & 10 from 10am-6pm. “After inspiration hits, I begin my process by pinning all cotton garments to large sheets of cardboard to create a flat workable surface. I freehand my designs onto the fabric using squeeze bottles filled with textile paint for the outlines. I let this dry and then place the piece onto a light table to trace the design onto the back. I use many different types and sizes of brushes, sponges and more paint-filled squeeze bottles to fill in the designs. Sometimes I will also incorporate tape and string into my process. After completing the front and back I will let the finished garment dry for a few days before running it through my conveyor belted heat setting machine. This will ensure that the piece will withstand machine washing without fading. After this is done, I then place a few of the pieces together in a commercial dryer to soften the paint. My one-of-a-kind wearable pieces of art wrap around the wearer and bring many smiles.” ~ Julie Anna Smith Discover the exceptional beauty of handcrafted items of art and décor for the home, office and gift giving at the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival.
