See Jason Humphrey of Original Ink Art at the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival, July 9 & 10 from 10am-6pm. “I have always been an artist since my earliest memories. I grew up in Los Angeles and was an avid part of the graffiti scene during my teenage years. After getting in trouble, continuously, I joined the Navy at the age of 17. Wanting to reconnect with my artistic side after getting out of the Navy, I became familiar with the pen and ink technique of stippling. After years of creating black and white images entirely with dots, I began adding different color mediums. The mixture of bright colors, juxtaposed with intricate dot detail has given my work an original voice. I am currently adding different layers of collage paper to my work, creating a variety of depth, color, and detail that is truly unique. I am very inspired by animals and the strong traits they have. Everything I draw has a spiritual meaning behind the art. Lions may represent strength, while a butterfly may represent new growth or the idea that it's never too late to change. My creative process starts with a vision and is usually drawn out in a simple outline. I let the work create itself, by the moods, music, or feelings I am experiencing at the actual time of creating. My artwork is very intuitive, and I rarely have an idea of what the finished piece will look like.” ~Jason Humphrey Discover the exceptional beauty of handcrafted items of art and décor for the home, office and gift giving at the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival.
