Shop the newest collection of original handcrafted art! See Jessica Luca Stevens of Mountain Water Canvas at the Sierra Arts Festival June 25 & 26, from10am-5pm. MOUNTAIN WATER CANVAS originated as a subcontracting sewing business on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. One summer of sewing in Tahoe (to support Luca’s other career as a professional ski patroller) soon became the primary focus of her work life. While learning to craft high quality boat canvas, the abundance of left-over marine canvas inspired many side projects, including the original prototypes for the current generation of reclaimed fabric bags. Luca is lucky enough to find a balance between work that she loves and outdoor endeavors including part-time Ski Patrolling, paddle boarding, trail running, and mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She can often be found adventuring up and down the West Coast in search of used sailcloth to create her fabulous sailcloth and marine canvas bags, custom boat covers and wall art.
